Heat Load
The system has been designed and the unit selected based on data supplied by the Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air-conditioning and Heating.
The data states that a ducted air-conditioning system should be sized for the following outdoor design conditions (the "design day"):
Perth
- Summer 36.6° C dry bulb (being the temperature without humidity) and 22.4°C wet bulb.
- Winter 7.4°C dry bulb.
We sized the air-conditioner at a rate of 160 Watts/m².
For cooling the maximum area that can be simultaneously air-conditioned on a "design day" is 133m² for the 21kW unit, 103m² for the 16.4kW unit or 90m² for our 14.7kW unit.
For heating the maximum area that can be simultaneously air-conditioned on a "design day" is 133m² for the 21kW unit, 103m² for the 16.4kW unit or 90m² for our 14.7kW unit.
Sydney
- Summer 31.1° C dry bulb (being the temperature without humidity) and 22.7°C wet bulb.
- Winter 7.2°C dry bulb.
We sized the air-conditioner at a rate of 160 Watts/m².
For cooling the maximum area that can be simultaneously air-conditioned on a "design day" is 125m² for the 21kW unit, 100m² for the 16.4kW unit or 92m² for our 14.7kW unit.
For heating the maximum area that can be simultaneously air-conditioned on a "design day" is 145m² for the 21kW unit, 110m² for the 16.4kW unit or 94m² for our 14.7kW unit.
Melbourne
- Summer 34.3° C dry bulb (being the temperature without humidity) and 20.5°C wet bulb.
- Winter 3.5°C dry bulb.
We sized the air-conditioner at a rate of 160 Watts/m².
For cooling the maximum area that can be simultaneously air-conditioned on a "design day" is 134m² for the 21kW unit, 103m² for the 16.4kW unit or 93m² for our 14.7kW unit.
For heating the maximum area that can be simultaneously air-conditioned on a "design day" is 109m² for the 21kW unit, 81m² for the 16.4kW unit or 72m² for our 14.7kW unit.
Brisbane
- Summer 30.8° C dry bulb (being the temperature without humidity) and 24.9°C wet bulb.
- Winter 9.2°C dry bulb.
We sized the air-conditioner at a rate of 160 Watts/m².
For cooling the maximum area that can be simultaneously air-conditioned on a "design day" is 145m² for the 21kW unit, 110m² for the 16.4kW unit or 94m² for our 14.7kW unit.
For heating the maximum area that can be simultaneously air-conditioned on a "design day" is 145m² for the 21kW unit, 110m² for the 16.4kW unit or 94m² for our 14.7kW unit.
At the above design conditions your air-conditioning system has been designed to maintain the following indoor zone temperature:
- Summer 24°C
- Winter 20°C
The Heat Loads have been based on these assumptions:
- A minimum of R2.5 ceiling insulation has been laid flat on the ceiling.
- All curtains and blinds are drawn in the period of extreme temperature.
- All outside doors and windows are closed and internal doors are open to allow circulation to the Return Air Grille.
- All areas are as per the house plans supplied.
Work excluded from the quote
- Upgrade to 3 phase power and power board upgrades.
- Building of bulkheads and suspended ceilings if required for the air-conditioning.
- Floor slab penetrations needed for the air-conditioning.
- Isolator switches adjacent to the unit. For homes under construction 2 needed for the 21kW units and 1 for other units.
- Repair of roof and ceiling if there is an existing air-conditioning system to be removed.
- Crane or hoist equipment for the installation of the unit if access is limited.
- Any cost in regards to installing within or the removing of asbestos in walls, floors and ceilings. This includes, but is not limited to, making penetrations in asbestos or asbestos-like material, working in areas recently containing asbestos material or replacing outlets previously cut in to surfaces containing asbestos.
- Any changes due to changes to the home by the customer made after the date of this quote e.g. changes to the home design.
- Underground pipe, work if necessary.
- No responsibility will be taken for any damage or repairs to Lathe and Plaster.
The excluded work is to be done by the customer in time to ensure that the installation can be done on schedule.
This quotation expires after 30 days and the prices are valid for installations within the current financial year of the quotation ending 30th June, unless specifically stated otherwise.
Please note that while the sales consultant provides advice on technical aspects of the installation, the following will only be finally confirmed after a detailed site inspection by an Intelligent Life project manager after this agreement is signed: the suitability of the home for a Gen III installation (if not, the agreement becomes void); the location of the products including the unit and diffusers; and of the need for 3 phase or power board upgrades.
Please take careful note of exclusions listed above.
Warranty
The warranty for the Gen III system is:
- For the air-conditioning unit including compressor and condenser, 5 years.
- For the electronic controls, 5 years.
- For the components: duct, diffusers and other mechanical fittings, 10 years.
The warranty is for parts and labour. To make a warranty claim the customer must:
- Have their Intelligent Life invoice as proof of purchase.
- Have adequately serviced the Gen III system annually with a reputable air-conditioning maintenance company.
The warranty does not include the cost of restoration or removal of any structure which is required to perform the warranty work.
For the warranty to remain valid, Intelligent Life requires that the Gen III system is serviced by a qualified tradesperson at least once every year.
Intelligent life is not liable for any damage due to negligent use of the Gen III system by the customer, for example not cleaning the Return Air Grille filter.
The customer must lodge a claim for any problem, shortage or damage or fault in the installation within 30 days of the final commissioning.
Delivery
Intelligent Life will deliver the air-conditioning system to the customers installation address before the installation and offload the products for the Gen III system whether or not the customer is at the installation address at the time. The customer will be responsible for the Gen III system thereafter.
The customer can request details of the delivery from Intelligent Life. The delivery time is an estimate only and intelligent Life will not be liable for any loss by the owner for the delivery not being made at that estimated time.
Installation
Before the Gen III system is installed the customer is responsible for the following:
- Ensuring that the installation site is free of anything that may hinder the installation of the Gen III system.
- Ensuring that any excluded work that is the responsibility of the customer is done - see the "Work excluded from the quote" paragraph in the quotation, offer or Terms and Conditions.
- Obtaining and paying for any approval required, including permits, from any government authority, including any Shire, necessary for the installation.
If any of these have not been done at the scheduled day of installation Intelligent Life can cancel the installation and recover any costs till that date from the customer.
If there is any delay in the installation for any reason Intelligent Life is not responsible for any loss suffered by the customer or anyone else. If the customer wishes Intelligent Life to do any other work not specified in this agreement, a separate agreement needs to be drawn up for that work.
Intelligent Life provides the specifications for the products used in the installation on its website. The customer will satisfy themselves that these specifications are suitable for their needs and for this installation
Intelligent Life is not liable for loss caused to the customer from any delays to the installation caused by weather, labour disputes, and unavailability of materials or labour for the Gen III system or any other cause beyond its control.
Whilst every precaution has been taken to protect your furniture and equipment from dust, we cannot guarantee this if "blow in" insulation has been used.
The customer has the following options to pay for the Gen III system:
- Bank cheque
- Credit card - which is subject to a 1% extra charge.
- Electronic funds transfer being made before or during the commissioning of the Gen III system.
- Cash
Until full payment is received by intelligent life, the customer holds the Gen III system for Intelligent Life and has a duty to care for the Gen III system and not use it. Intelligent Life will retain the touch screen for the Gen III system until final payment is received into its bank account.
However, if the system is fully functional but one unimportant product is unavailable e.g. a special sized grille for one outlet, the customer can choose to have the system commissioned and working for a payment to bring the amount paid to 95% of the total price. The customer retains 5% which is paid when the unavailable product is installed.
